Visits and Scheduling

  
    We will keep dogs on leash in public, unless in a designated off leash dog park. We walk dogs in small groups, generally no larger than three dogs at one time. We can walk your dog alone, for an additional fee.

    A minimum number of visits per week or month is not required to keep your account active. Most clients arrange a regular weekly schedule, which remains the same indefinitely, but we can easily work with an irregular schedule. Schedules can be arranged on a monthly, weekly or daily basis.

    Generally, we arrive within a two-hour window of time. a one-hour window can be provided for puppies, dogs with medical issues, or other time specific needs. While we take requests into consideration, we do not work with a window of time narrower than one hour.

Forty-five Minute Visit $16.00

  • Add $3.00 per additional dog
  • Add $1.00 if you would like your dog to be walked alone for 15 minutes or 30 minutes
  • Add $2.00 if you would like your dog to be walked alone for 45 minutes or 60 minutes

  • Time and a half rates apply to visits provided on weekends and weekday visits scheduled to end after 6pm.

Vacation Care per 24 Hours for multiple days $55.00
Vacation Care per 24 Hours for single overnight only $60.00
  • Add $10.00 per 24 hours for each additional dog
dog graphicTiming of Visits
 
  The timing of the visit begins the moment the representative enters the property upon which the pet resides, and ends the moment the representative leaves the property upon which the pet resides.

A note is left behind to indicate the arrival and departure times for each visit. Let us know if, in addition to or in place of the note, you would like a phone call placed from your phone to another line with caller and time identification (i.e. a work number or mobile phone) in order to record the arrival and departure times of visits.

  There are two ways to make changes to your schedule.
  • Call the Canine Care pager number (312-400-7138) if
    • you are making a change for the same day you are calling.
    • the change to the schedule is for the following day that is either a weekend or holiday.

  • Call the business line (773-561-0801) if
    • you are calling about a change that can wait until the next business day.
When in doubt, feel free to call the pager. The pager number is the quickest way to reach us. Feel free to call any time.

If your call is an emergency, call the pager number first, then also call the business line.

  In order to guarantee an added visit, we require 24 hours notice.

Usually, we can add a visit with less than 24 hours notice, especially if the requested visit is between 9am and 6pm Monday through Friday. There is no additional charge for a short notice requested visit.

When calling to add a visit, state your name, which day and ideal time for us to arrive, and duration of the visit.

Unless otherwise directed, we will always call back to confirm an addition to the schedule. If you do not hear back from us in a relatively short period of time, call again. If you do not receive a confirmation call, there is no guarantee we will be able to add the visit.

It is easier to cancel a visit than to add one.

  If either given at least two hours notice or if the representative has not gone out of the way, there is no charge for a canceled visit.

All of the representatives carry pagers, so we can reach them fairly quickly.

The charge for a fifteen-minute visit will be applied if a visit was not cancelled in time.
